Monday intrigue - Bat for Lashes and this Natasha Khan being.
That was the strange thing, that one did not know where one was going, or what one wanted, and followed blindly, suffering so much in secret, always unprepared and amazed and knowing nothing; but one thing led to another and by degrees something had formed itself out of nothing, and so one reached at last this calm, this quiet, this certainty, and it was this process that people called living.

That day when you decide to turn a shipping container into a pizzeria, throw all your worries into the wind, and sell and eat pizza for the rest of your life.
Baking with Joy

Dear Joy,
Pssst.. I didn’t tell you before I went on holiday but my flatmate and I had a Joy the Baker Baking Frenzy one fine Saturday. Yes caps is needed for Baking Frenzy because it was a real event of frenzied baking.
My flatmate had a baby shower that she had committed cupcakes to and I had a birthday party of a certain fabulous friend that I had committed cake to. I chose to throw in cookies as well … why not!
Together we managed to churn out your:
- peanut butter cream cheese frosting
- chocolate cream cheese frosting
- peanut butter cake
- brown butter chocolate chip cookies
Wow that’s a lot of butter for one list!
Unfortunately these were no new recipes of yours Joy, but the good news is that your recipies are already becoming reliable favs in our household. I think re-making recipes over and over again is where the love REALLY starts to seep in. We are creatures of habit, routine and tradition, and being known for certain treats/ knowing loved ones for certain gem recipes is where baking love grows. Food psychology at its finest!
Anyway how are amazing are these masterpieces!? My first three layer cake! I was like a proud mother at her first-born’s graduation day. My flatmate and I did start to feel like we were getting too domestic however for our early-twenties age so we compensated by going to Bali on a blow out trip. You gotta do what you gotta do!
Fear not though, I have my mind on new Joy the Baker recipes - an ice cream maker is on my christmas wish list…
Love, Carrie

Ok guys don’t lose the plot on me, I know it’s a Monday and all, and that Monday blues fever is rife, but I have found a hotel that is mind-blowingly cool. I think it’s time to go to Milan…
Go on the site and look at all of the rooms, they are AMAZING. It was the teacup coffee table that caught my eye first. Which is your favourite??
THE HOTEL
In 1840, a neoclassical railway station opened in central Milan. It operated the Milan-Monza route, the second-oldest railway in Italy, and it was one of the city’s most beautiful buildings.
Today, the exterior façade of Viale Monte Grappa 12 is a reminder of the station’s original grandeur. But inside, where once handkerchiefs were waved at lovers disappearing in the distance, a new world has been brought to life.
True to the essence of the Moschino brand, we completely reinterpreted the building, adding 65 contemporary hotel rooms and junior suites inspired by a visionary and contemporary fairy tale theme. Spread out across four floors, the rooms are sensuous visions of surreal diversity. Entering the Maison Moschino is like falling down the rabbit hole: after a while, you come to expect the unexpected.
Weekend time already!
When I was on holiday I discovered the source of my Wizard of Oz pic posted below - a Disney inspired range of sleepwear by Peter Alexander. The cute Disney pics and oh-so-soft fabric = LOVE! The price = not so much love.
I plan to sleep quite a bit this weekend and am wishing that I had these sweet pj’s to give me nice dreams.
Happy weekend xx
Kate Moss is even in Bali
Back in the game

Daylight Savings is here! While the rest of the blog world turns comfy and cosy and becomes consumed in muted, warm tones, we get to feel like the peeps in this picture - fist pump!
I am back from holiday and I hereby declare this month BLOGTOBER. I have the best of bestest intentions to get my posting face on, lets high five it out - I can do this.
